Building the Fragrance World Campaign Library
Role: Media Asset Manager, Editor, Colorist, Motion Graphics Artist
To solve workflow inefficiencies for Sephora's quarterly Fragrance campaign, I designed and built a centralized media library from scratch. Over two years, I created a pool of over 165 reusable, color-graded video assets, which streamlined post-production, cut future costs, and provided a lasting, accessible resource for the creative team.
The Challenge: Inefficiency and Redundant Costs
When I joined the Fragrance World campaign, the post-production workflow was decentralized. Key challenges included:
Disorganized Assets: Raw footage and final deliverables were scattered, making it difficult to find and repurpose existing content.
Redundant Work: Teams were often recreating assets or reshooting similar concepts because they were unaware of what footage already existed.
Increased Costs: A lack of a reusable media pool meant significant time and budget were spent on sourcing, shooting, and color-grading new content for each new request.
Lack of Consistency: Without a master library of color-graded clips, maintaining a consistent look and feel across different campaign assets was difficult.
The Solution: A Centralized, Client-Ready Media Library
My solution was to build and manage a comprehensive media library that would serve as the single source of truth for the campaign.
Audit & Archiving: I began by auditing all past campaign footage. I worked with production to archive all deliverables and raw footage, creating a foundational, organized database.
Content Curation & Expansion: I collaborated directly with the Fragrance team to enhance the library's documentation, adding accurate and accessible metadata for both internal and external use.
Color Grading for Reusability: I color-graded additional full clips to expand the pool of client-ready content, minimizing future costs and the need for reshoots.
The Results: A Streamlined and Scalable Workflow
The implementation of this media library fundamentally transformed the campaign's post-production workflow.
165+ Reusable Assets: Created a core library of fully color-graded, ready-to-use clips that can be deployed instantly.
Reduced Manual Processes: The new, centralized system significantly reduced redundant manual tasks for the creative team.
Positive Department Feedback: The streamlined workflow was met with positive feedback, highlighting its new efficiency.
Scalable & Future-Proof: The library was designed as a buildable, long-term asset. Its organized structure allows for new footage to be seamlessly shot, integrated, and accessed every quarter, ensuring the system remains current and valuable for years to come while reducing future production costs.
This project showcases my ability to not only handle the creative aspects of editing, color, and motion graphics but also to design and implement strategic systems that deliver lasting value and efficiency.
